Tour the Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum!
Carnival Season kicked off January 6 on Epiphany, a.k.a. All Kings Day, and officially ends on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 16. Discover the longstanding history of Mardi Gras in Coastal Mississippi at the museum.
The museum is located at 792 Howard Ave. in Biloxi, and hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. Check out the Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum Facebook page for more info.
Order your favorite King Cake from your favorite bakery!
Carnival Season wouldn’t be the same without the sweet sugary treat known as the King Cake! Luckily, local bakeries are still business baking these tasty traditions. Don’t have a favorite bakery yet? Local bakeries are easy to find with a quick Google search. Narrow the search even more by looking for “best king cake!”
Participate in the first-ever Mardi Yardi!
Stop wondering how to celebrate Mardi Gras 2021 in Coastal Mississippi and get the Yardi Party started! The Mardi Gras Museum invites residents of Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson counties to break out the best purple, green and gold décor! Decorate doors, porches, yards, business fronts, neighborhoods—you get the idea!
Enter to win the Yardi Party with your creative at-home Mardi Gras spirit by tagging the museum in your photos on social media and email [email protected] to enter. There is no entry fee. Entries must be received by Wed., Feb. 10. Contest is for the exterior decorations only. Winners for best residential and best business will be announced on Lundi Gras, Feb. 15, the Monday before Fat Tuesday.

Introducing another new tradition brought to you by the Mardi Gras Museum—the Laissez Bon Temp to Geaux! This roughly translates to “Mardi Gras in a to-go box” with everything from decorations to get you rolling for the Yardi Party to a King Cake. The boxes are $100.
Run off the King Cake!
Still deciding how to celebrate Mardi Gras 2021 in Coastal Mississippi? Register for the Gulf Coast Carnival Association’s 9th Annual Run for the Beads online now. Sign in begins an hour before the race at the Mardi Gras Museum on Howard Ave.
The one-mile run starts at 8:45 a.m. followed by the 5K at 9 a.m. The race ends at the museum with refreshments and entertainment. Catering will be provided by Half Shell Oyster House.
