For the first time since 2019, Thunder Over the Sound is back in Biloxi! Experience the sights and sounds that signify freedom as you feel the rumble build while jets zoom over the Mississippi Gulf Coast on April 29th-30th.
About Thunder Over the Sound
Keesler Air Force Base and the City of Biloxi have partnered once again to host the 2023 Thunder Over the Sound Air and Space Show.
Visitors can expect a full weekend schedule as the U.S. Air Force showcases its capabilities with aerial performances and more. It also gives citizens the chance to meet and mingle with the service members who fly.
The theme for this year’s air show is “Heritage and Honor,” highlighting Keesler’s rich history and current commitment to community.
There will be aerial performances by several high-flying groups, including the USAF Thunderbirds! The impressive display will include six F-16 Fighting Falcons executing formations and solo routines, showing what the “mighty frontline fighter” can do.
According to reports, attendees will also see planes such as the T-28 Trojan and C-21 Learjet. Plus, a re-enactment of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, “Tora! Tora! Tora!,” featuring Japanese Zeros and a big pyrotechnic bomb-simulating display will bring history to life.
More about the schedule
The gates open at 9 a.m., and the air show will take to the skies with aerial performers such as Wings of Blue, Jet Provost Aerobatic, Trojan Phlyers, Chefpitts and more.
Several performances will take place in the morning and early afternoon on base, while additional aircraft flyovers and the Thunderbirds performance will be on the beach later in the afternoon. Check out the full schedule here.
